Brazilian. Alternative Rockers. Project MIOS Ambassadors

Your band is originally from Brazil. What does it feel like to be internationally recognized?

Besides we feel like we are still in the beginning of our career, having the opportunity to share our music with different cultures and peoples is something that means a lot to us. We came from a city in which the music industry is weak and have no space for independent bands; one of our main goals is to make bridge between the world and the amazing artists from our land.

Project MIOS helps at risk students. What message are you trying to conveyto these students?

Never give up on your dreams.

Who or what would you credit for inspiring your interest in the music world?

During high school we discovered great names in the music world likeBeatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Who etc. All of them played a role to make me feel in love to this thing called music. And then, I discovered names from my own city, like Eletrola and Stereoscope, that were doing great music. Real people that I meet and made me wonder why can’t I do the same?

You started your band when you were still in high school. What is it like to still be preforming together since high school?

The group's been like a marriage in some ways, with memories of sublime happiness and of painful tribulation. There have been too many shared experiences to put in a single text. But there is something I can guarantee you; nothing is better than share a dream with the people you love.

Were you offered music education in school? If not, what experience haveyou had with music education?

It is not common to have music education in Brazilian schools. I remember that in high school there were a group of guys who used to bring guitars to school and share some chords they learn from the internet or a book. Everybody was welcome as long as you were willing to share what you know, that was pretty fun.

Can you tell us about the song you will choose to feature on our collaborative CD?

This song was inspired by one of Andro’s students, her name was Maryanne, she wrote a composition one day talking about lots of problems in her house,in a very disturbing way, which was completely different from her way to behave in class. Inspired a beautiful song at least. He never had the chance to show her the song.

Where is the farthest show you’ve ever performed away from home?

The USA.
